It&#039;s entirely possible (or probable) that I&#039;m reading far too much into what is really not a big deal. I guess getting the salutation &quot;right&quot; in your cover letter is important (though who&#039;s to say what&#039;s &quot;right&quot;?), but certainly working to make the actual body of the letter excellent is what you should really be aiming for. Anyway....

Any other reactions to my perhaps hasty and ill-informed reaction to those who use full names in a cover letter salutation? Other cover letter quirks that people have noticed?</description>

		<description>Maybe a little culturally insensitive. In a lot of foreign languages and cultures (pretty much all of asia, for instance), the polite, formal way to do things is use someone&#039;s full name, particular in a salutation.</description>
