Obama should appoint Susan Boyle as his Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs! I’m sure given her worldwide appeal she’d be perfect for the job - Who doesn’t like her?!

Oh–and if Susan Boyle is too busy, maybe we could book her Britain’s Got Talent competitor, Hollie Steel?

To my surprise, Sherry hasn’t mentioned here the power of a group of people! Like the familiar Margaret Mead quote “Never doubt that a small group of dedicated people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” suggests, community groups (e.g. Councils for International Visitors under the NCIV umbrella) have a big role to play in public diplomacy. In fact, working at these types of groups (as this blog has suggested before) is a great way to achieve international success locally. They too, offer the genuine, perception-altering experiences that affect our international attitudes and opinions.
